If you are purchasing a lake home or rural property in Stearns County, a septic inspection is highly recommended. A compliance inspection evaluates whether the system meets current regulations and identifies any issues that need correction. A typical inspection may include: Pumping and inspecting the septic tank, checking for leaks, cracks, or structural damage. Evaluating the drainfield performance, confirming proper separation from groundwater. After inspection, the property may receive a Certificate of Compliance or a Notice of Noncompliance requiring repairs or replacement.
